XFly Model is proud to announce its second scale fighter jet F-18 Hornet in the twin 40mm EDF lineup. For the purpose of making it as most streamlined and true-to-scale as possible, XFly team equips the F-18 with twin power system setup and reserves scale details including air inlet, cockpit, nozzle and full-flying horizontal stabs.

The factory-installed power system, including twin efficient 1413-KV5500 brushless motors and twin 20A brushless ESCs, paired with a 4S LiPo battery, delivers an abundance of thrust for fast climbs, rolls, loops and endless fun for high alpha flying due to the F-18’s low wing load and full flying stabs. A flight time of around 3-8 mins can be achieved with proper throttle management.

Perfectly fitted landing gear design helps keep the plane lightweight and make take off & landing smooth. Landing gears can be easily removed for more speed and vertical performance. The twin EDF power system, with smooth inlet duct design, delivers an incredible turbine-like sound. Belair Scale Kits are developed by experts in the field of traditional balsa aircraft building. Having identified some of the tedious aspects of scratch building, their kits feature laser cut parts that help avoid the hours of tracing and cutting, allowing you to get building as soon as you roll out the plans. Not only do the laser cut parts speed up the process they also increase accuracy ensuring the final airframe fits together perfectly every time. The included plans identify each individual part with a part number that correlates to the markings etched on the part helping ensure the build goes smoothly and correctly.

Belair Kit are accredited cutters for some of the modelling world’s best designers. The likes of Peter Rake and Reinhold Platz provide the CAD data allowing others to enjoy not only the process of building but also safe in the knowledge the aircraft will fly beautifully too!

All Belair models include all the parts to build the basic airframe and require the tools and adhesives needed to assemble. Once the airframe is built, electronics, final covering and details are needed to complete and make ready for flight.

Our latest addition to the Peter Rake designed scale range is the elegant WACO SRE. With a wingspan of 38 inches, the design is traditional all wood construction and modern CAD design features.

A full size multi-sheet plan is included and the laser cut parts set includes all the balsa and plywood parts required to build the basic airframe, such as fuselage sides with spar slots and wing position holes laser cut for accuracy, formers, bulkheads, cowl components, wing ribs, shaped spars, tip shapes, trailing edges plus many smaller items.

With a wingspan of 38 inches, the design is traditional all wood construction and modern CAD design features.

Scale 1.093″ to 1ft, 38 inch wingspan for 480 size electric brushless motors and 2 cell LiPo batteries. Aileron control, plus rudder, elevator and motor.

This Peter Rake designed electric scale aircraft is the Sopwith Pup WWI. Modelled at 1.33″ scale (approximate 1/9th scale), the model suits affordable 480 size brushless motor setups.

All shaped parts are included, such as fuselage sides, bulkheads, formers, wing ribs, wing tip shapes and trailing edge, interplane struts, scale control horns in ply, cowl components, form to laminated fin and rudder, wheel blanks plus many smaller items. A 3 sheet full size plan is included.
